Urgent and Immediate Need for the Consecration of
The U.S.A. to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on every First Saturday.

N.B.  The rest of this Letter is below in HTML format for easier reading.

Many of you may not be aware of the fact that it was 74 years ago this month, during the June of 1938, that the Catholic Partriarch of Lisbon, along with the Archbishops and Bishops of Portugal, sent a letter to His Holiness, Pope Pius XI, in which they respectfully requested and petitioned the Pope to Consecrate the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. As a courtesy to those of you who may not know where to find this letter, here is the text of this letter:
“Most Holy Father, the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon, and all the Archbishops and Bishops of Portugal, have met at the Sanctuary of Fatima at the feet of the Blessed Virgin Mary to renew, in a spirit of thanksgiving, the Consecration to Her Immaculate Heart which We had previously made.  Most especially during these last two years, this Consecration to Her Immaculate Heart has saved Portugal from the perils of Communism.  With joy, We rejoice because of this very great and miraculous Blessing granted to Portugal by the Mother of God.  In view of this Miracle, the entire Episcopate of Portugal now humbly prostrates itself at the feet of His Holiness, earnestly beseeching His Holiness to Consecrate the Entire World to this most pure Heart as soon as His Holiness judges what is the best time to do this so that, at last, the world  might see itself delivered once and for all from the very great perils that threaten it from every side, so that, by the mediation of the Mother of God, the soverign peace of Christ will reign.”
Your Excellencies may please make a special note of the sentence which has been underlined for emphasis.  Because of its immediate relevance to the United States of America, We emphasize it again by repeating it because of its current importance:
Most especially during these last two years, this Consecration to Her Immaculate Heart has saved Portugal from the perils of Communism.
They explain that the Consecration to Her Immaculate Heart which We had previously made has saved Portugal from the perils of Communism.

Dear Brethren in the Catholic Episcopacy, while it is not Our intention to preach to the choir, as the arcane expression has it, nevertheless, it has been readily apparent to Us, and hopefully to all of you, that the United States of America is facing a crisis of an extreme urgency concerning her very existence!

Having had recourse to prayer for a real solution to this grave matter of the utmost extreme importance concerning the U.S.A., We came upon the above quote from the letter of the Catholic Prelates of Portugal to the Holy Father of June, 1938.

Because it is impossible to err by praying, but also in this case of dire emergency (which it seems has been skillfully cloaked from some Americans concerning their forthcoming fate at the hands of godless people), it is likewise wise and prudent to pray in order to avoid this unprecedented calamity for America and for all Americans.

Therefore, We humbly and most respectfully request that each of you join with Us in devoutly and religiously imitating the sterling example of the Cardinal Partriarch of Lisbon, and all of the Archbishops, and Bishops of Portugal in their Consecration of Portugal to the Immaculate Heartof Mary in 1936, by making, whether in private or in public, the following Act of Consecration Of the United States of America To the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the original Feast Day which His Holiness, Pope Pius XII, of Blessed Memory, created.

We thank you in advance for joining with Us, and also with all of the other validly Consecrated Catholic Bishops of America, in this joint Episcopal Consecration of America to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to protect the United States of America with her Heavenly Mantle of Protection from all of the enemies of America, and We ask you to please contact all other validly Consecrated Catholic Bishops to make them aware of this very special joint Episcopal Consecration of America to the Immaculate Heart of Mary so that they, also, can join with the rest of Us.

During the night of April 18, 1775, just before the first battle of the American Revolutinary War, Paul Revere, during his famous Midnight Ride, alerted the Colonial militia of the approaching British forces before the battle of Lexington and Concord, by supposedly shouting:  The British are coming!

Paul Revere was not an alarmist, but rather a Patriot.  Today, as an American Patriot, just as Paul Revere acted upon reliable information, so do We, based upon data which has been publicly provided to everyone, including various relevant items found in the print media (newspapers, magazines, etc.), as well as the electronic media (radio, TV, and most especially the internet).

Although it may, at first read, seem that this has gone over the heads, so to speak, of some Americans, on the other hand, there are apparently large numbers of other Americans who are keenly aware of this very sad situation, some of whom have told some of Our Clergy that they are greatly depressed by its coming reality. We hope that your Excellencies fall into this latter category, but not of depression, but of Hope in knowing that there is a real Spiritual and Religious solution!

But, for the proverbial doubting Thomas - know this:  it is never wrong to pray, and, in this case, it is not wrong for the entire validly Consecrated Catholic Episcopate of the United States of America, following the precedent set by the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon, and all the Archbishops and Bishops of Portugal in their wise and prudent Consecration of Portugal to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1936, which protected Portugal from Communism, and which Consecration they renewed in 1938, to actively partake in this joint Episcopal Consecration of America to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in order to totally protect the United States of America, and all Americans, with her Heavenly Mantle of Protection from all of the enemies of America.

We also invite all validly Ordained Catholic Priests, plus Religious, and the Catholic Laity, to also join the Catholic Bishops by devoutly and piously reciting this Act of Consecration Of the United States of America To the Immaculate Heart of Mary on her glorious Feast Day, August 22, 2012 A.D., which falls on a Wednesday this year, but also make this Consecration on every First Saturday, beginning with this coming July First Saturday, which is Saturday, July 7, 2012.

In conclusion, We quote from the 1942 Pastoral Letter of the Catholic Bishops of Portugal which today We apply to all Catholics, especially to all of the Catholics in the United States of America:

"The Virgin’s promises are tied to a condition: fidelity to the twofold duty of prayer and penance. In her conversations with the seer, there is question only of sin, of sinners, hell, reparation, conversion, mercy. Like Lourdes, Fatima is an insistent appeal to penance, an anxious request for Souls to turn to God."

"This kind of talk, so foreign to our modern ways, the three little shepherds of Fatima well understood, they who performed such great penances to obtain the conversion of sinners and console the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We must therefore declare war on sin, this implacable tapeworm which devours the fibres of the social organism and provokes the great catastrophes of peoples. The Blessed Virgin very clearly declared to Her confidants that the calamities hanging over the world  [N.B.  This is a direct reference to World War II at which time parts of the world were then in the depths of the horrors of war.]  are the punishment for the sins of mankind.  She added that if mankind does not do penance and reparation, even more terrible evils would come."  (Roman Catholic Bishops of Portugal, Pastoral Letter to all Portuguese Catholics, Wednesday, February 11, 1942, formal opening of the Jubilee Year in celebration of the Apparitions of Our Blessed Mother at Fatima, Portugal.)

Ultimately, it is really a matter of Faith, because:

We respectfully remind Our Brothers in the Catholic Episcopate to do NOW that which, when you stand before the Throne of White Light, upon which Jesus Christ, the Just Judge sits, you THEN will have wished at that time that you would and should have done NOW, or were otherwise required to do, NOW, as the Father of the Jesuits has wisely written:

“Fourth Rule. The fourth, looking and considering how I shall find myself on the Day of Judgment, to think how I would then want to have deliberated about the present matter, and to take now the rule [Commandment; Precept] which I would then wish to have kept, in order that I may then find myself in entire pleasure and joy” (Father Saint Ignatius De Loyola, S.J. [b. at Loyola Castle, Guipuzcoa, Spain in 1491 A.D. - d. at Rome, Italy in 1556 A.D.], The Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Translated from the Autograph by Father Elder Mullan, S.J., Imprimatur, John Cardinal Farley, Archiepiscopus Neo-Eboracensis, Neo-Eboraci, Die 25 Aprilis, 1914, publisher P.J. Kenedy & Sons; Second Week, The Second Way to Make a Good and Sound Election, Fourth Rule; emphasis added).
God Bless You!

Jacobus Maria DeJesus, C.M.F., D.D.

Enclosure:  An Act of Consecration Of the United States of America To the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

N.B.:  This is basically the exact same Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Prayer which His Holiness, Pope Pius XII, used in Consecrating the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Saturday, October 31, 1942.  The Holy Father renewed this Consecration on Tuesday, December 8, 1942.

The 2 exceptions to the original 1942 Consecration Prayer are:  1) the original references to WWII (then raging), are omitted; and, 2) the special mention of America and Russia, are inserted.

*  But one interesting example of the print media is the article in the Sunday, June 3, 2012 edition of the Los Angeles Times, Sunday Calendar section, THE SUNDAY CONVERSATION:   Rather the optimist article by Irene Lacher, printed on page # D3, which almost covers that entire page, and features a 2 column LA Times, Carolyn Cole, color photo of Dan Rather, under which is the caption:  "DAN RATHER trusts the audience to see the harm of corporatized media and politics."

An Act of Consecration
Of the United States of America
To the Immaculate Heart of Mary
To Be Made by
All Validly Consecrated Catholic Bishops
of the United States of America
On the Original Feast Day of
The Immaculate Heart of Mary
Wednesday, August 22, 2012 A.D.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, / Refuge of the Human Race, / Victress in all God's battles, / we humbly prostrate ourselves before Thy Throne, / confident that we will receive / mercy, grace and bountiful assistance and protection / in the present calamity / not through our own inadequate merits, / but solely through the great goodness of thy Maternal Heart.

To thee, to thy Immaculate Heart / in this, humanity's tragic hour, / we consign and consecrate ourselves / in union not only with the Mystical Body of thy Son, / Holy Mother Church, / now in such suffering and agony in so many places / and sorely tried in so many ways, / but also with the entire world, / torn by fierce strife, / consumed in a fire of hate, / victim of its own wickedness.

O Mother of Mercy, / obtain peace for us from God / and above all procure for us those graces / which prepare, establish and assure the peace.

Queen of Peace, pray for us / and give to the world / the peace for which all people are longing, / peace in the Truth, Justice and Charity of Christ. / Give peace to the nations / and to the souls of men, / that in the tranquillity of order / the Kingdom of God may prevail.

Extend thy protection to the infidels / and to all those still in the shadow of death; / give them peace / and grant that on them also / the sun of truth may shine, / that they may unite with us / in proclaiming before the one and only Saviour of the world / Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will (Luke 2:14).

Give peace to the people separated by error or schism, / and especially to those / who profess such singular devotion to thee / and in whose homes an honoured place was ever accorded / thy venerated Icon / (today perhaps often kept hidden to await better days): / bring them back to the One Fold of Christ under the One True Shepherd.

Obtain peace and complete freedom for the Holy Church of God; / stay the spreading flood of modern paganism; / enkindle in the faithful the love of purity, / the practice of the Christian life, / and an apostolic zeal, / so that the servants of God may increase / in merit and in number.

Lastly, as the Church and the entire human race / were Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, / so that reposing all hope in Him, / He might become for them / the sign and pledge of victory and salvation; / so We, in like manner, / Consecrate Ourselves, the United States of America, the Vatican, and Russia, / forever, to thee and to thy Immaculate Heart, / our Mother and Queen, / so that thy love and patronage / may hasten the victory of the Kingdom of God / and that all nations, / at peace with one another and with God, / may raise their voices / to resound from pole to pole / in the chant of the everlasting Magnificat / of glory, love and gratitude / to the Heart of Jesus, / where alone they can find Truth, Life, and Peace. Amen.

“Rejoicing in Hope.  Patient in tribulation.  Instant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).

“Now the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing; that you may abound in Hope, and in the power of the Holy Ghost”  (Romans 15:13).

“Charity is patient, is kind: Charity...beareth all things, Believeth all things, Hopeth all things, endureth all things” (1 Corinthians 13:4, 7).

“Now Faith is the substance of things to be Hoped for, the evidence of things that appear not” (Hebrews 11:1).
